On June 21, 2025, Equinox Guiding Service assisted in a climber rescue at Barrett’s Cove in Camden. Working alongside Coastal Mountain Search and Rescue and local first responders, our guides drew on their AMGA‑based training to help bring the situation to a safe outcome. This event highlights why preparedness, professionalism, and community partnership are at the core of what we do.

This summer, Equinox Guiding Service made history by hosting the first ever AMGA Rock Guide Course in Camden, Maine. Over 10 days, four of our instructors trained under world‑class IFMGA guides Paul Koubek and Paul Rachele, gaining advanced skills in technical systems, risk management, and client care. As the only AMGA‑accredited service in Midcoast Maine, we’re proud to set a new standard for professionalism and guiding in the region.

I’ve had the most fun on katadin at some of the most extraordinary points in my career as a guide and climbers. its pushed me to be willing to take on the Moutain and challenges of mental fortitude in ways I thought I was not capable of.

Went on a guided winter ascent of Mt Khatadin in February 2023 with my son and the Equinox guide. This was an amazing experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Our guide (Noah) was well prepared and highly experienced and prepped us well in the weeks leading to oir trip. He guided with a light hand giving us confidence and allowing for a genuine Mountaineering experience of a classic epic peak. We always felt safe with our guide. I highly recommend this for anyone with hiking experience that wants the fun, challenge, and skill-set associated with a thrilling winter ascent.
