About Equinox Guiding Service

Locally Rooted. Professionally Guided.

Equinox Guiding Service was founded in 2016 with a simple goal: to offer world-class climbing experiences rooted in Maine’s rugged beauty and small-town values. Led by owner and local climber Noah Kleiner, we specialize in thoughtful, safety-focused guiding across the Midcoast, Acadia, and beyond. Whether you’re new to climbing or chasing your next big objective, our AMGA-accredited team is here to help you connect deeply—with the rock, the landscape, and yourself.

Our Story

Equinox Guiding Service was born from a deep love for Maine’s mountains, cliffs, and coastlines—and a belief that outdoor adventure should be rooted in professionalism, humility, and care.

Founded in 2016, Equinox started as a one-person guiding operation with a simple goal: to offer safe, meaningful climbing experiences that reflect the spirit of this place and the people who call it home. We began guiding on the granite crags of Camden Hills, expanded into Acadia, and now offer trips across the state—from sea cliffs to alpine routes deep in the western mountains.

Owner Noah Kleiner grew up just down the road in Union, Maine. After years spent working and climbing across the country, he returned home with the vision of building a guide service that combined world-class instruction with small-town heart. Today, Equinox is an AMGA-accredited guide service offering everything from introductory climbs to advanced instruction and multi-pitch adventures.

At our core, we believe that climbing is about more than reaching the top. It’s about connection—to the landscape, to your partner, and to yourself. Whether you’re tying in for the first time or pushing your limits on a remote mountain face, we’re here to create a thoughtful, safe, and empowering experience.

We are educators, guides, and stewards. We believe in clear communication, long-term learning, and fostering respect for the wild places we climb. Our approach is grounded, professional, and deeply personal—because we don’t just guide here. We live here.
